It has been long since I posted something but I was and still am very busy, It’ s holiday time in Japan so I’m taking the time to prep some posts.
First of all I should thank 橋本誠様 ( Makoto Hashimoto ) a Tokyo Designer who used his precious time and skills to modify my old rode blimp to a shorter version, since the original is way too bulky to fit in my backpack. Visit his shop if you are in japan it has plenty of interesting designer products. Mr Hashimoto thank you very much!
Back to the recording, this was recorded in the summer I think. It was my first Noh play and I have to be honest it was very boring, sorry. I mean, most of the audience was asleep (no kidding) so much so that at half time people didn’t even applaud, no one even noticed the scene was over until the light came on. The play is very slow, the japanese language is very hard to understand for most of the people and there isn’t much energy in the music like you will find in kabuki play. Despite its popularity and incredible costumes, it was hard to digest for me. Still I recorded most of the play ( we did leave before the end we couldn’t take it anymore ) and here is a small chunk of it.
Regardless of my own personal experience I think a short clip of the play will be still interesting to listen to, so enjoy!
Lastly I would like to wish everyone a great new year!!
